After months of thinking, going back and forth, and debating whether I should take the leap and buy the Away Carry On – I finally took the leap! With my trip to Colorado next week, it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time either! See this beautiful carry on has so many great features I don’t even know where to begin!
I was so excited to buy a carry on, that I knew it needed to match my main suitcase which is of a navy color, So that is exactly what I chose: Navy. It came in a simple box with the AWAY logo, and once you opened it up inside there was a canvas bag around the suitcase. I was only too eager to open the bag…So of course, I carefully took out the bag and positioned it for a picture (I felt like a mother making her child pose for endless pictures!).
Here is where the fun began. I took the canvas off and positioned the bag so that I could see it in all of it’s beauty. Here is a shot from the very top, where you can see the tag, the TSA lock, the set up in the back for the charger (this carry on CHARGES your devices, I mean HOW cool is that!) and the clean buy easy to function exterior. (As seen in both pictures below).
Below is another picture of the exterior, this one with more of a view of the charging area. Now let’s open it up! Inside there are two pockets for packing. One that is enclosed as you can see on the left, and the other which is more open but has an enclosed portion you can buckle in to keep things neatly organized on top of what you have packed. The suitcase is 21.7″ which I think is a great fit for a carry on and I love the idea of this extra enclosed pouch as I like to call it because I can store important papers or even my laptop in this section over clothes, makeup, and other essentials to pack in a carry on.This is a better view of it laying down, more at an angle. AWAY even sent a little manual, an extra battery and cable for charging your iPhone or iPad (how did they know???) and the TSA key for the lock. I’m just so taken away by this carry on that it makes me want to stay at a hotel just for the night this weekend for the heck of it!
I travel from Orlando to Miami. a lot, so I can visit my parents (sometimes yay) and my grandmother (definitely yay). This AWAY bag is going to be the best investment I will have made this year by far. I’m already thinking of getting the bigger suitcase and replacing my regular suitcase with another AWAY luggage because I’ve such great things and I just love what I see. I mean it’s total love at first sight!
I am extremely picky when it comes to choosing suitcases because I like to have functional and lasting products. I do not like the type of bags that will die after a couple of uses. I mean I have had my suitcase for over 5 years already and it’s still in good shape, I could use an upgrade but it’s still in good shape. I never had a roll on carry-on though. I always used my sisters so I have been in the market for one and that’s where AWAY came in. I can honestly say I am truly excited for my trip next week and for the trips to come. Let the traveling bug continue to bite!
Have any of you heard about AWAY suitcases? Do you own any?
I have a very exciting announcement to make. I spontaneous decided that I wanted to switch up my hair, and I did! It was a normal Tuesday when I went around my office polling them about what kind of hair cut I should do. A trim? A lob? A bob? What? I even polled Instagram and the decision was unanimous – the lob had won so I went out on a limb called my hair salon and asked for an appointment. Luckily they had one for that night and I just went for it. Now, if you know me you know I’m afraid of cutting my hair. I literally will cry. If you didn’t know me, now you know. I can be the biggest baby when it comes to that. So what exactly did I do to my hair? Well, let’s take a look.
These are pictures of me before the cut. They were taken within the last month and a half and demonstrate the length of hair I had.
These are the pictures of me after I got my hair chopped off about 7-8 inches. Now for me to cut this much hair, I must either be crazy or be doing something out of the ordinary for me. The most I cut at one time is 3 inches. But that day I went for it. I usually am not a fan of short hair, but I have so much hair that I needed to do something fun and light for the summer. My hair feels so clean, healthy, and light now that I can’t wait to let it grow healthy. That’s been my problem, I’ve had so much product and hair dye in my hair plus I straighten and blow dry it so much that my hair was looking crunchy. Well not anymore! It is officially nice and clean and fresh!
Cutting my hair is a way of me starting over. I now have a bucket list to complete and I’m almost done with this semester of school so I am gearing up to have a few months off of school and dedicating more time to the blog and running. It’s exciting to have a chance to start fresh and really refocus my life. It’s been so hectic the last six months that I need this “do-over”.
What do you think, do you like the hair?
On the first Monday in May, the fashion event of the year occurs: the Met Gala. This years Met Gala celebrated Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo. Rei Kawakubo is a Tokyo-based designer and a legend. His eye for fashion is groundbreaking and boundary-pushing (to say the least). Kawakubo is known for bold, experimental clothing, and his designs have an stern aesthetic and cult-like following. Last night we saw fashion go from one extreme of the spectrum to another, it was definitely boundary-pushing for some and full of art and class for others.
Let’s talk about who I felt was “best” and “worst” dressed at this years Met Gala. It is extremely hard to just pick one best dressed outfit for the night where there were so many wonderful, and breathtaking choices to choose from so this list is in no way shape or form a from best to worst dressed. It will reflect my personal reviews of who was “best dressed” and who’s outfits I considered to be “worst dressed” overall.

Today I received the Spring box for FabFitFun! I love when I receive subscription boxes since I never know what they are going to have inside. Let’s take a look at what came inside my Spring box!
So, the Spring box is LOADED with stuff. I seriously can not wait to use all this stuff and see what it’s all about. I already know I’m going to absolutely love two things because I have one of the brand products already. Okay, so let’s go over what is in the box.
Well that wraps up the Spring FabFitFun box! I can’t wait to use all these fun things!! Please note, this is not a sponsored post. I paid for my subscription and reviewed the box on and for my own opinion.
Spring has officially sprung, although in different parts of the country it doesn’t seem to look that way. Here in Florida it’s finally warming up enough that I don’t need to keep digging my sweaters out for these random cold fronts. As hot as it gets in Florida, there is nothing like going from cold fronts to warm, Summer ready weather. We don’t necessarily have the four seasons, it is either hot for the Summer or randomly cold for the Winter.
This year the cold lasted a little too long for me, so I am ready for that beautiful sunny and warm weather that we will be getting. Of course, change of season means a new wardrobe and that’s exactly what I am extremely excited about. I bought the Spring 2017 FENTYxPuma silk bow sliders (in both olive and pink, just because I didn’t know my size), I have bought some cute Spring/Summer ready shirts and dresses from Old Navy, and just last night I bought chambray sneakers with emoji’s on top. Spring cleaning has begun in my closet with me taking out the old, worn out clothes I no longer wear and making room for the new, colorful, lightweight, and Spring/Summer ready clothes I am buying or have and haven’t worn.

With the new season blooming, these new trends are definitely new for me. I feel like it’s time to break out of my shell if it means I try new things. I’m looking forward to expanding my closet and trying new things.
Is there a specific trend you feel I should explore?
Fashion Month has come and gone in the blink of an eye, but this years fashion month has got to be my favorite one thus far. These are some of the best outfits, best handbags or accessories, best beauty, and best shoes from the runways.

The RED PAINT DRIP BAG WITH CHAIN STRAP is MY favorite bag from the 2017 Louis Vitton show. I just love the unfinished paint look, I absolutely love the size and the chain strap, but more than anything I love that it’s a Louis Vitton.
Next up, Saint Laurent slouchy patent leather boots.
(picture c/o InStyle.com)
I love these patent leather boots, and honestly I never say those words. Why these? I like the color, I like the embellishment on the boot, but most of all I love the slouchy look of the boot. This is something I can see myself wearing for sure. It doesn’t hurt that it’s designed by the Saint Laurent team.
Now for the next look, it’s something I’m already totally into – big sweaters/pullovers. In London Fashion Week, this was definitely a star on the runway. From left: Ports 1961, Topshop Unique, Peter Pilotto, Joseph

I actually really love the bigger fit sweater/pullover style…so much, so that I generally never take it off! They’re cute, they’re comfortable and if I could find more, I’d stock my whole closet with more!
Now for some Milan Fashion Week, I want to show you the bags I absolutely drool over. First stop, Fendi:
Next up, Versace!

Now let’s take a look at the shoes of Milan:

I absolutely loved the Chanel Paris show and these were the accessories that caught my eye in the spaceship themed show:
Now lets see some outfits while we are at it!

Just because I am obsessed with Balmain and Olivier’s love affair with the Kardasian’s I present to you this perfect runway look Kendall is rocking:

Honestly, I don’t know how all these beautiful models survive something so demanding and hard like “Fashion Month”. I know I could survive attending it, but working all those hours, walking the runways, making it to fittings and rehearsals, after parties…it truly is remarkable how these women can prioritize and survive on such little sleep and look so stunningly beautiful regardless of the lack of sleep. Kudos to them, their agents, and the fabulous designers.

Have you heard of Spectacles? You know those really cool Snapchat glasses that record 10 second videos you can send your friends or use for your “stories”? You might have seen them, they look like this:
(photos c/o www.spectacles.com)
Well I recently got my hands on a pair and boy, oh boy have I been having fun with these babies. I have so far been snapping videos and making stories of anything and everything just because I can. Today I actually recorded me walking my dogs…just because that’s what I was doing when I was wearing the glasses. These Spectacles let me record anything I want to record and if I want to extend the video more than 10 seconds all I have to do is hit the button once more and boom! there is my longer video. It seriously is so fun and exciting.
The glasses come in three different colors: black, teal, and corral. The just recently opened for sale to the public at a cool price of $129.99 and they really are a hit. Spectacles are going to be game changers. I mean who isn’t obsessed with Snapchat these days? With Summer approaching in the upcoming months, I’m getting ready to be recording Snapchat videos up the wazoo! My stories are going to be filled with summer adventures and while I’m hanging out in the Spring, especially while I play in the parks at Disney on my days off – I’m going to be recording all my adventures. Can you imagine me recording my ride experiences? How cool is that going to be!
The spectacles are already cool, but I can’t wait to record all the cool things I’m going to be doing in the up coming months like the new Avatar land: Pandora at Animal Kingdom or my fun days at the beach or in the pool with my friends, or my time at the water parks when I have a day off and I’m on the lazy river! Adventure awaits and adventure with these spectacles is only the beginning. What do you recommend I do with my Snapchat Spectacles?
Of course I got them in black because black is timeless and it matches everything, but I think the teal is a fun color too…This is me with my spectacles before I recorded my best friend without her knowing I was even recording! (Boy did she get mad when she found out! (oops!))
The Oscars were this past Sunday and I have rounded up the 10 best dressed Actresses. My favorite part of award season is the red carpet and this year was definitely one of my favorites. I can honestly tell you there were a lot more than ten best dressed, but these were the ones that really stood out to me. They are in no particular order, because to be honest they are all just absolutely fabulous. From Emma Roberts in Armani Privé to Dakota Johnson in Gucci, these fabulous women were definitely at the Academy Awards to dress to impress and that they did. Do you have any favorites? Was there someone not on this list that stood out to you? Leave me a comment and let me know!

A couple of weeks ago I was on Carly’s website, The College Prepster, where she did a post on bags you can use for work and I instantly fell in love with the Dagne Dover bag so I placed an order instantaneously. It arrived not even 3 days later (I was shocked). I haven’t been able to put the bag away since I got it. I mean, considering it holds my laptop, my iPad, my agenda, my water bottle, my pouch with my markers, pens, and post it flags, and more would you be able to put the bag away? Dagne Dover created a sturdy, beautifully designed, well-rounded, masterpiece in my opinion and I am completely obsessed (I may be biased, but that’s my opinion).
Since I have a 13″ MacBook Air, I selected the royal blue 13″ bag which honestly is gorgeous. I have one other bag in this color and I have had it for years so it is safe to say I will have this bag for years to come, at least that is my assumption (and I usually assume correctly, especially when it comes to handbags/purses). I had heard of Dagne Dover before from a different blogger and it had piqued my curiosity but at the time I wasn’t in the market for a bag like this, now it comes in handy for school and for when I travel – especially for when I go home to Miami because I usually have assignments due for my Grad School classes. I’m telling you, this bag is so many levels of perfection that I can’t even begin to explain to you how perfect it is. Here. Let me show you exactly how perfect it is. First let me start by showing you which bag I chose from their website:
Now, let me show you what my bag looks like and how I organize it (I’m a little bit OCD, don’t mind me please).
PS this is not a sponsored post, this is my personal opinion and experience. I am not getting paid or sponsored to post for Dange Dover.
